6: 54, Manish Nagpal, MD, FRCS (UK)

Synopsis

Silicon Oil is an important adjunct as a long term tamponade  during  vitrectomy for retinal detachment (RD) with proliferative vitreo retinopathy (PVR). Recurrence of PVR could lead to redetachments under oil. Sub silicon detachments present peculiar challenges. This video presents an assortment of such complex cases with various intraoperative steps such as epiretinal membrane removal, endodrainage, endo laser etc done under oil or retinectomy after removing oil and reinjecting again.
